Six selected students from KPV and UPV spent their exam period a little differently. From May 17–22, 2026, they participated in the third annual “The Green Change Agent” summer school at AERES University of Applied Sciences in Wageningen in the Netherlands.
Together with Dutch, Bulgarian, and Austrian students of pedagogy study programmes, they explored topics such as sustainability, social transformation, and the future of education. Working in international teams, they developed their competences, including systems thinking, collaborative and communication skills, environmental awareness, and sensitivity to complex social challenges.
At the same time, our students designed and implemented educational activities for first-year Dutch bachelor’s students of study programme of pedagogy for vocational training, demonstrating how complex topics can be explored through dialogue, creativity, and cross-cultural collaboration.
This international collaboration helps foster cultural understanding, openness, and the ability to respond sensitively to the challenges facing today’s society. It was inspiring to see what can emerge when diverse experiences, perspectives, and ideas come together.
The students’ commitment to living in accordance with the principles of sustainability is also reflected in their choice of transport. For their journey to the Netherlands, they opted for the so-called “Green Travel” option, travelling by train, and subsequently commuted to the campus from the outskirts of the city by bicycle.
