IEC does not offer doctoral study programmes but provides support for doctoral study programmes for all the CZU faculties within the course Didactic and Presentation Skills. It is organized in the form of block seminars and self-study activities.
Information on the subject of Didactic and presentation skills
The subject is designed as multidisciplinary. It includes groundwork of university pedagogy, educational psychology, and a practical training in didactic and presentation skills.
To train students in the basics of presentation of the results of scientific activities. Make them familiar with teaching and learning principles. Guide them to adopt basic procedures in university teaching and evaluating results.
The seminars take place twice in two days; they include theoretical instruction and practical training. Theoretical instruction takes place in the first and the second day in the morning. When theoretical instruction is complete, the practical training begins. To intensify teaching the students are divided into parallel groups. Passing the practical training is the prerequisite for passing the examination. It is recommended to attend the theoretical instruction in the respective disciplines.
During completion of the practical training, the student performs two presentations. One of them is focused on the research report (the thesis presentation, and aims), the other relates to teaching (lectures, tutorials) It is necessary to have the presentations ready and taken to the examination. Duration of the presentation is 10 – 15 minutes. A summary is possible; it is not necessary for the presentation to be complete.
