IEC is a pedagogical and scientific-research institute of the CZU Prague with the following objectives:
Realization of its own accredited study programmes;
Education for agriculture, rural development, and public administration, in the form of lifelong learning;
Extend the range of study programmes for students of other CZU Faculties;
Methodology and implementation of consultancy work;
Pedagogical training of teachers of vocational subjects in agriculture, forestry and related fields, and their further education in connection with their career development;
Increasing the pedagogical competences, communication and presentation competences, for university staff and students in doctoral study programmes;
Organization and coordination of the University of the Third Age at CZU;
Aid for disabled students to integrate them into selected study programmes;
By authorization of CZU management, to create tools for implementation of a complex assessment to ensure the quality of education at the university;
In educational quality management, to fulfil the intentions of ELLS (Euro League for Life Sciences), of which CZU is a member;
Programme of research, focusing on initial and continuing education, didactics of vocational subjects in agriculture, forestry, food processing, engineering, economics and other related fields;
Development of current research topics in guidance, lifelong learning and professional education;
Creation of new partnerships with Czech and foreign institutions to deal with joint research projects;
Coordination of international projects with partnerships in international project consortia;
Organizing and guaranteeing international conferences.
