The institute (IEC) has transformed its official name in English to the Institute of Education and Counselling. This change was made because of the confusing meaning of the previous name (Institute of Education and Communication), which was often associated abroad with areas such as public relations and media. The new name better describes the work of the institute – pedagogy and career counselling.
"The Academic Senate of CZU has approved the amendment of the IEC Statute, including the new English version of the name. According to the legal interpretation, the change will take effect on 1 June 2025 and is not conditional on the registration of the Statute of the CZU with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport which has significantly accelerated the whole process. Currently, the IEC management is working on the gradual implementation of the new name in all documents and outputs. I firmly believe that the change of name will enable better promotion and communication of the IEC abroad," says the director of the IEC.
