Future Teachers Go Abroad

IVP has received funding from the Jan Amos Komenský Operational Programme (OP JAK) for the implementation of professional internships at foreign vocational secondary schools in the academic years 2025/2026 and 2026/2027. The students mobility will cover a wide range of vocational training areas - from forestry, agriculture, food and veterinary medicine to services and technical fields.

The target group of the OP JAK project titled „Support for the Preparation of Teachers in Vocational Education at CZU in Prague“ (CZ.02.02.XX/00/23_019/0008463) are students of the Bachelor's study programme Pedagogy for Teachers of Practical Training.

A selection procedure is currently run for a group internship in France, which will take place from 21 to 27 September 2025. Six students and two academic staff will participate. The programme will take place at the ENSFEA Toulouse, a higher education institution specialising in teacher training, and at three French secondary schools: the Jean Monnet Forestry Academy in Vic en Bigorre, the Auzeville Secondary School of Agriculture and the Lycée Agricola Centrale in Albi.

Participants will observe practical lessons, analyse them, practice team teaching. The students will learn about school curricula, methodology of teaching and the school management.

Further OP JAK internships are scheduled as follows:

  • April 2026 - Austria
  • September 2026 - Netherlands
  • March 2027 - Slovakia

The IVP Director, Prof. Valášek, evaluates the importance of foreign internships by saying: "I believe that the participation of our students in foreign internships will contribute to the enrichment of teaching and the acquisition of practical and soft skills that are crucial for future teachers."
