Project „Digitally Innovative – the Unique Ones“

In 2015 Institute of Education and Communication CZU joined the consortium of an international project Digitally Innovative – Unique Ones. The project coordinator is the University of the Third Age at Lubsko, Poland. In the project participate also Technical University Zvolen, Slovakia, RUTIS – U3A association from Portugal and Public Educational Centre at Elmadag, Turkey.

The project main objective is to introduce an innovative approach to teaching seniors at the Universities of the Third Age and to improve competencies of their teachers. The lecturers, who cooperate with the individual institutions, have an opportunity to take part in various professional seminars organized within the project by a partner university. In autumn 2016 IEC will launch this series of seminars aimed at seniors´ education in ICT area and new media.

The project ambition is to achieve a quality education of seniors through instructional programmes. The classes are, among other things, extended with new interesting areas such as new media and ICT, home economics, memory training etc. Teaching is supplemented with educational excursions.

Since February 2015 the selected group of twenty seniors – participants in IEC programme „By education to better quality of seniors' life“ have an opportunity to educate beyond the programme in further extended study. After the programme completion their main task is to provide feedback whether the projects objectives have been met.
