Two students of study programme Guidance in Vocational Education have gained valuable experience in counseling and pedagogy during the summer school in June and July 2019 in Sri Lanka. The two-month internship at the “Ukkulankulam public school” and at the private institution of “U. K. Education Center” was organized by the Institute of Education and Communication together with the local NGO “Horizion Lanka Foundation”. The main content of the internship was teaching English, but also leisure activities with Sri Lankan children. The Summer School had a high impact on the development of pedagogical, didactic and communication competences of outgoing Czech students and on English language skills of Indonesian pupils, but also ensured the strengthening of social skills including tolerance to different cultures among all the participants.
